LADY FRANCES BALFOUR. . , J LONDON, February 25. ■ The death has occurred of Lady Prances Balfour, the authoress. [Lady Balfour, LL.B., D. Litt., was tho widow of Colonel Eustace Balfour. She published several biographies.]
MR G. W. DEANE. [THE PBSBS Special Serric*.] - AUCKLAND, February 26. ■ The death occurred to-day : of Mr George "i\*. Deauc, aged- 55' yearn. Ho was an Australian by .birth arid came to the Dominion »some years ago as manager of the New Zealand branch of Carmichael and Company, Ltd., paper and printing machinery merchants, of Sydney. Mr Deane was a familiar figure at assemblies of newspaper men, by whom , he was greatly respected. lie is 'survived by his widow, one daughter, aad four sons.
