Ho was an Australian by .birth arid came to the Dominion »some years ago as manager of the New Zealand branch of Carmichael and Company, Ltd., paper and printing machinery merchants, of Sydney. Mr Deane was a familiar figure at assemblies of newspaper men, by whom , he was greatly respected. lie is 'survived by his widow, one daughter, aad four sons.
