BOX PLANS NOW ■ OPEN'.
There was a very large demand ftrf seats when the box plans were opened jesterday morning for tho approaching production of J. C. Williamson's stupendous extravaganza, which is to be staged at the Theatre Royal, beginning on Saturday at the lnat i°® e - M „, "One of the memories, J bourne critic, "in 'The House That Jack .Built,' which focused itself after witness the opening performance was a bevy oi «n>, !charming children in white muslin » scarcely more than babies, t who S ave ,^ 0 s t ' •ful entertainment in a capital in a t y shop. All the world loves a child, and when there are a number of them in a W pantomime the love increased in more than arithmetical progression. The solo dancing, too, was, remarkably, fine, and jny,toast*of the dancert is 'coupled with' the names of ( Edna Moncrieff. Mona Zeppel, and Eric Bush. ino same critic, wrote: "Although the comedy very much funnier and much more original than is generally enjoyed in a there is not one line one can take exception to, therefore the most sophisticated child can bo taken to see it with impunity. One can readily' realise that the comedy is genuinely humorous and wholesome, because the leading comedy part, that of Dame isarijecorn, is taken by Mr Jim. Gerald, whose genius as a comedian we onjoyed ini ine New Moon" and "The Belle of New York. Mr Gerald makes a feature of his. work with the children at the matinee performances, who get to adore the popular comedian. Another very excellent laughter-maker is ALr Roy Bene, who is making his first appearance here with a J. 0. Williamson. Ltd., company. Mr Rene greatly assisted in making "The House Jack Built ,®.„T ecor 4" breaker in Melbourne. ■ The. .Williamson management wac evidently fortunate m its engagement of Miss Sadie Gale for the part of the principal boy,, ar critics acclaim her one of the best the-Australian- public lias yet enjoyed. She possesses 8 pretty "S urß > a delightful voice, and sheOis a vivacious actress. An outstanding characterisation is I that of the Paulesto Brothers, .who present an i almost' human cow, and in this guise they i sing and dance to the delight of the audi* I ence. It is said that from a spectacular point of view the Williamson management has never previously staged a more magnificent pantomime, ■ the beautiful ballets and the-charming ensembles being a triumph lor the producer, Mr Charles A. Wenman, and ; Miss Minnie Everett, who created and arranged the ballets. There are over 100 people concerned in the production of The House That Jack Built," including * full operatic chorus and orchestra. ;
