YESTERDAY'S TRANSACTIONS.

• Markets "were more buoyant' on call yesterday and there was a good volume of diversified business with prices generally showing a hardening tendency. (Transactions exclusive of vestibule business included:—

: Bank of New South Wale's shares cum dividend jumped to £26 "10s on the morning call,-but were unable to main-, tain this level, and dealings on the afternoon, call were .recorded at £26 ss, matket closing £ 26. buyers, £.26 10s sellers. Bank' of New Zealand; shares scored a substantial rise., with dealings at 49s and 49s 3<l, closing quotations 49s -3d sellers, 48s 4d buyers. New Zealand Befrigerating Company 10s paid shares were fractionally firmer at Is Bd, market closing Id on either side, North Canterbury Freezing moved up to Is Id, and more were wanted at that price j sellers at 2s. New Zealand Breweries shares scored a rise of Is 3d, with business at 35s 3d. Australian Glass shares were stronger on buyers' offers 23s 6d, sellers at 285., Quotations for British Tobaccos, Electrolytic Zincs, and Mt. Lyells revealed stronger markets. Wilson's Cements changed hands at 30s 6d, 39s 9d, and 39s 4jd, market closing 39s v 3d 39s 6d sellers. King Solomon were weaker with; dealings at Is lOd, is 7id, and Is 7d, and further sellers at Is 7d, buyers at Is 6Jd. Mahakipawa Goldfields shares were slightly stronger with dealings at 9Jd and lOd.
