Mrs Ja!mes Grant (Grey's Hills) left yesterday for a short visit to Christchurch. Mr John Tripp (Karow) returned home on Sunday, after a short visit to Mr and Mrs B. H. Tripp ("Orielton"). >li«« Felicity Williams (England), who has been Btaying with Mrs J. Mowbray Tripp ("Silverton") has left to visit the North Island. Priscilla Haythorne (England), who is the guest of Mrs M>Burdon ("Parkhurst," Woodbury), will return to Timaru to-day, to stay with Mrs B. H. Tripp ("Orielton"). Miss Joan . Crawford (England) ia spending a few days with Mrs M. Burdon ("Parkhurst," Woodbury). •\riaa Dorothy Barron (Wellington) arrived yesterday to be the guest of Mrs A. Grant (" Aigentighe," Wai-iti road). Miss Evelyn Pinekney ("Glenaray"), who has been staying with Miss Alice Pascoe (Christchurch) arrived yesterday to be the guest of Mrs F. J. Bolleston (le Cren's terrace). Mrs Alister Mackenzie (Clayton) has returned home after a visit to Mrs W. Evans (North steet). Miss Baine (Christchurch) is the guest of Mrs F. Burns ("The Bungalow"), Wai-iti road.
WEDDINGS.
MOORHOUSE—McKEE. At St. James's Chureh, Lower Biecarton, the wedding took place quietly of Phyllis Jean, youngest daughter of Mra McKee and the late Mr J. S. McKee, of Sandwich road, Beckenham, and formerly of Chertsey, to Albert Francis, elder son of Mrs Moorhouse and the late Mr A. E. Moorhouse, of Biecarton. The Bev. E. de Lambert performed the ceremony. Miss Bailey was organist. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr S. W. MeKee, of Ashburton, wore an ankle-length frock of ivory satin beaute, made on princess lines, with a pointed hip-yoke, andk narrow belt, and V-shaped neckline. Her veil of embroidered net, lent by a friend, was arranged 'a Juliet cap of pearls, and was held in place by clusters of orange blossom at the sides. She carried a bouquet of pink gladioli.. Miss Clafe McKee, sisteiNof the bride, Miss Roberta Croy, of Chertsey, and Miss Thehca Damphy, of Fairton, were bridesmaids. They wore sleeveless frocks of bine georgette, made similar to that of the bride, and wide-brimmed pale pink silk straw hats, finished at theback each with a crinoline bow. They carried sheaves of gladioli shading from pale to deep pink. The best man was Mr Gordon Helson, and Mr Lester Moorhouse and Mr H. Goodman were groomsmen. The bride, on leaving the church, was presented with decorated horseshoes by her three nephews—Masters Errol Smith, Dunedin, Boy McLauchlan, Chertsey, and •Noel MeKee, Ashburton. The reception was held at Dixieland. The bride's mother wore a black lace frock,, a black crepe de ehine coat relieved with white, and a black and white hat. The bridegroom's mother wore a black ensemble anji black, hat. When leaving for the wedding trip, the bride wore a suit with fnll coat of royal blue crepe dorie,' a tuck-in white satin blouse and blue hat.
FAREWELL PARTY.
At her home in Brett's road, last evening, Mrs Thomas > W. Dent was hostess at a very enjoyable party, given in honour of Mrs Spence-Clark, who,' with her husband and daughter, is leaving shortly for England, where they will make their home. , Mrs Spence-Clark was a foundation member of the Canterbury Repertory Society and has acted on the committee of the society since its inception. Most of Mrs Dent's guests last evening were associated with Mrs Spence-Clark in the society, and to show their appreciation of her good work they P l ® - sented ber with a Kaiapoi rug and a -travelling'cushion. Miss N. Alexander made the presentation, and,., in expressing best wishes for the future, said ..she hoped the gift* would serve as a memento of the happy days Mrs Spence-Clark had spent with 'her Christchurch friends. Mrs Dent also spoke appreciatively of Mrs_ SpenceClark's assistance' to the society ana presented her with a posy of - rose* mary, for remembrance. Musical items and three dramatio readings—"THe Philosophy of Butterbiggins," "Moonshine," and an excerpt from "The Three Musketeers" were much enjoyed by the guests, amongst whom were Mrs SpencerClark and Miaa Joan Spence-Clark, Mrs G.
