MR HERBERT HANCOCK.
The death has occurred of Mr Herbert Hancock, proprietor of the Lower ■ Bicearton Hotel. ~Mr Hancock -was keenly interested in all forms of sport, but particularly in cricket, boxing, and trotting. He owned and raced many. well-known horses, these including Nancy Bingen and Bosie Nut. He was a member of •the Ohriatchurch Boxing Association. Mr Hancock, Commenced Jus connexion /with hotel-keeping ten years ago at Nelson, where he owned the Exchange Hotel. He was later licensee of the Queen's and Phoenix Hotels in Christchurch, and ,of the Hororata Hotel before talcing over the Lower Bieearton i Hotel i* April last. • , . anT .
