ACCIDENTS.

CYCLIST HURT. There were several accidents in the City during the week-end, some of them e resulting in serious injury to people con- \ cerned. A cyclist, F. Clarke, of 638 Madras street, was knocked down by a motor- > car while crossing the intersection of I Montreal and Victoria streets on Saturday evening, and received serious head injuries and shock. "When admitted to } the Christchurch Hospital his condition I was serious, and late last night had not , improved. It was thought that he had sustained a fracture of the base of the 1 skull. [ WOMAN INJURED. i v Injuries to her head and knees and shock were suffered by a woman, Mrs A. E. Curry, of 254 Lincoln road, in a motor accident on Papanui road on Saturday night. The injured woman was riding in a motor-car, driven by her son, along Papanui road, when a taxicab . struck them. Both vehicles were damaged considerably, but the only i person seriously injured was Mrs Curry, who was admitted immediately to the Christchurch Hospital. She ia now out of danger, and her condition ia improving. OLD MAN HURT. Another serious accident occurred in Papanui road last evening, when an elderly man named Priest, living at 456 Papanui road, was knocked down on the road by a motorist, and received serious head injuries. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital, and is still in a serious condition. FALL FROM MOTOR-CYCLE. - Severe head injuries and a cut on the right-hand were suffered by a young man, J. Moore, as the result of a fall from his motor-cycle while riding in the City on Saturday morning. It is understood that he hit a kerbing on the side of the road. His condition is not serious, although when admitted to the Christchurch Hospital he was unconscious. . , YOUNG GIRL INJURED. A fall from a bicycle resulted in a young girl, Doreen Manning, of 32 Durham street, being admitted to the Christchurch Hospital last evening with a fractured right arm. t She was treated as an out-patient and discharged.
