A cheque was received from the North Beach Surf Club for £32 4s 2d, representing 50 per cent. of the net profits of the carnival. It was decided to pay some liabilities in connexion with the previous gala and to hand the balance over to the North Beach Gala and Foreshore Improvement. Society. Votes of thanks were " passed to the Surf Club, to the workers, and donors in connexion with tjje „ carnival. It was decided to hold a brxng-and-buy fair in the Memorial Hall later in tho year, in aid of the hall'funds. School: Concert. A successful concert in aid of the school picnie fund was given in " the North Beach Peace Memorial Hall on Thursday evening by scholars of the school, assisted by Miss Martin (songs) and Mr Bougen (conjurer). The hall was filled with an ' appreciative audience. ' North Brighton W.O.T.U. The North Brighton branch of the W.O.T.U. held its annual meeting on Tuesday, Miss B. M.
