A report from Santa Anna, California, states that the Court proceedings in connexion with the will of the late Mrs Doris Murray Palmer, have closed with Judge Scovel's unprecedented decision that Mrs Guy Bates Post was her murderess, despise an attorney's plea to "leave her sleeping peacefully," and the assertion that, since Mrs Post was dead; Bhe was unable to be declared a murderess, for it would be impossible for her to be tried. Mrs Palmer's will left Mrs Post a thousand dollars and her jewels. Mrs Palmer's friends, contended thatneither the murderess nor her estate was able to receive a bequest from the victim. The Judge upheld this asser-. tion, declaring: "A murder confession is seen in the fact that Mrs Post committed suicide. It was a prima facie case of murder." [On April 25th, 1930, the police found the bodies of Mrs Guy Bates Post, divorced wife of the well'known actor, and Mrs Doris Murray Palmer in a bungalow owned by the latter at Laguna Beach, California.
