CHRISTMAS MAILS.
BIG SHIPMENT FOR CHRISTCHURCH. The Makura, which is due at Wellington from San Francisco on Monday, is bringing 444 bags of English nnd American mail for Christchurch. This will constitute one of tho heaviest shipments of mail ever handled by the Christchurch mail-room, and certainly the heaviest received in- Christchurch foi several years. Tho mail, which includes letters and parcels, will arrive in Christchurch on Tuesday, and its distribution will keep the Christchurch mail staff exceptionally busy for some days. Eight bags of Australian letter mail brought from Sydney by the Ulimaroa will arrive m Christchurch this morning, and the 109 paper and parcel receptacles ako shipped by the Ulimaroa are due here on Saturday. A further large Christmas mail from Australia will be brought by the Marama, aod is due in Christchurch on December 17th.
