RANGIORA WATER SUPPLY.
LOAN PROPOSAL CARRIED. A poll on a proposal to raise a loan of £14,000 for a high-pressure water supply for the borough of Rangiora was held yesterday, and was, carried by a good majority. The voting was: — For the proposal ... 284 Against the proposal ... 145 There were six informal votes, and there are 12 declaration votes to be considered. The water supply scheme does not take in the whole of the borough, but covers a special rating area. This is the fourth time that a poll has been taken oh different schemes submitted for a high-pressure water supply. One of the proposals on a former occasion was carried, but owing to the smallness of the poll it was not gone on with. ' The scheme placed before the ratepayers yesterday was drawn up bv Mr J. Stevens, who recently completed the borough sewerage.
