Although the stoppage only lasted a month it resulted in a loss of £33,000 in wages to the men. The loss to the trade amounted to & 120,000. Members of the Master Butchers' As sociation have decided to send a depu tation to the Premier, Mr J. T. Lang, to ask him to facilitate the payment of about £9OOO represented by coupons for meat issued under the unemployment relief scheme.
