Two cars which had tied for first place in the reliability trial held -by the Canterbury Automobile Association on Labour Day took part in a petrol consumption test last evening to decide the winner. The cars and drivers were a Willys-Knight, dri von by Mr 11. Christie, and a Willys driven by Mr if. 8. Nottingham, who had competed in the open class. As a result of the-test, the WillysKnight was the winner, consideration being given to the weight of the cars and to their petrol consumption. The mean was taken between the ton miles and the number of miles done to the ;■ 11« mi. the points awarded to the Willys Knight being .V>, and to the Willv--34,20.
