——« REPORT FOR NOVEMBER. In liis report for tit© month of November, the Librarian of the Canterbury Public Library ht;itcs that there was a. falling off in tho number of books issued for home-reading. The total issue reached 15,105 volumes, this being about 1000 less than tho number rc-corded during November of last year. New members to the number of 117 enrolled, and nearly 200 books were added to tho shelves. In the referonce library 7<189 books wero consulted, this being an increase of 9G3 compared with the figures for November of last year. In this department, 20 new volumes were placed on the shelves. The children's library was well patronised, no less than 3351 volumes being issued during tho month, an increase of 116 compared with November, 1929. Mr A. D. Dobson has presented to the library several bound volumes of music for pin no and llute, and also two reports of local interest. Mr C. Hastings Bridge has presented a bound volume of the lists of passengers arriving at Lyttelton by the early ships, nhd a framed picture of early Christchurch.
