Buttorficld, H. It. Rus- | bridge, and K. W. Robinson. The monthly report of tho Superin- i te.ndent (Mr C. C. Warner) stated that , tho number of calls received from nit i sources was 20. Of these eleven wer® I to sir tim-1 fires in or «n property in J the City, two were to hedgo fires, on© j to n chimney tire, four were to false alarms, of which one was given maliciously. There were also two calls to Fendalton, one being to an actual fire, and the other to a tree fire. The estimated loss by fire during the period was £1402, tho insurances on buildings and contents were £6565, and the estimated values of property actually afTected was £10,305. The Addington Railway Volunteer Fire Brigade was disbanded on November 10th, t :):30, and tho Department now relied solely upon tho City Brigade to extinguish outbreaks of fire at the workshops in accordance with the agreement with the Board. One thousand feet of new fire boei was delivered in good order, and been coupled up, tested, and placed in commission. The half-yearly inspection and testing of the lire appliances in public and private buildings was now being earj ried out by the brigade staff, and tho equipment so far had been found in good order.. The chairman stated that last month's record for malicious alarms was the most satisfactory for the yearThe secretary (Mi- C. J. Treleaven) added that in the previous month there wore, only two such alarms. The report was adopted.
