PUBLIC NOTICES. PUBLIC NOTICE. NORTH CANTERBURY ELECTRIC POWER BOARD. PROPOSAL TO RATSE SPECIAL. "LOAN. IN THE MATTER of "The Electric Power Boards Act, 19-5," and of "The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1920.'' PURSUANT to Section 10 of "Tho Local Bodies Loans Aft, 1920," it is HEREBY PUBLICLY NOTIFIED that THE NORTH CA NTL'iiBUKY ELECTRIC POWER BOARD desires to obtain tho consent of the ratepayers of those portions of tho Oxford and Eyre Counties recently gazetted part of tlie Board's Inner Area (and fully described in the New Zealand Gazette, 1930, Number 30, I>a?c 1414), to raise a SPECIAL LOAN of £13,200. The Loan is required for tho purpose of carrying out and paying for the work of Electrical Reticulation, Erecting Mainss, and providing material and things necessary or incidental to extending the Board's Eleetriea-l Supply to tho Additional Areas, cited above, and supplying such areas with Electrical Energy and Power, and exercising power conferred on the Board by Section 113, 119, and 12D of tho Electric Power Boards Act, 1925 ("Advances"). Tho sum proposed to be borrowed for the above-named purpose is XI J,200. It is proposed that the Loan shall bear interest at a? rate not exceeding £o 15s per centum per annum, with a Winking Fund of 2 per rent, per annum, and that the currency of the Loan shall not exceed 20 years. As security for tho said Loan and providing interest and .Sinking Fund ift respect thereof, tho Board proposes to make, levy, and pledge a special annually recurring ra*te sufficient to provide for the payment of interest and S nking Fund, but not exceeding one half of a penny in the £ on the Capital Value of all rateable property in the additional areas concerned. Only so much of the said ra-te (if any) will be collected as will be sufficient, together with any profits on the conduct of the operations of the Board after making due allowances for depreciation, replacements, and maintenances and all othei proper allowances and deductions, to pay the said Interest and S.nking Funds. As it is not proposed to raise the above monies until sufficient revenue has been guaranteed to the Hoard to meet all charges on the cost of the work proposed to be carried out, it is not anticipated that the collection of any portion of the above rate will be at any time necessary.. It is proposed to pay out of the Loa«n the cost of raising the Loan and the preliminary expenses involved. it is not proposed to pay any Interest or Sinking Fund charges on the Loan out of the Loan itself.
