PREPARATIONS FOR ELECTION. The Cliristcliurch executive ol tlio United Party met on Friday night. Mr W. Hayward presided, and an address was given by a representative of the Dominion executive. Tt w«is reported that •* .Dominion conference of the Party delegates would be held in Wellington in March, when the whole position ot tho Party would bo discussed. , . Although no actual details concernthe "candidates of the Partv for Chnstchurch seats have yet been fixed, it is understood that Mr C. S. McCullv will contest the Chnstchurch South electorate. Mr A. A. McLachlan Riccarton. and Mr T. If. Langford Teimika. The sitting member, Mr R. W. Hawke, will contest Kaiapoi A candidate for Christohnreh North has not vet boon decided on. "there is a nossibility that tlieie may be no candidate for Lyttclton.
