SCHOOL JOURNEYS.
The development of school journeys as part of the educational system of London is tho subject of a pamphlet issued recently by the London County Council. In 1908 (fie number of children who took part in school journeys was 160, while iu 192'J the total was 15,440. In the meantime the number of journeys bail grown from five to 480. The cost of the school journeys last year was £-.15,7-0. towards which the Council made a contribution of £14,000. Of the liahiiu-e the parents and pupils contributed £2-,217, while the remainder waj, raised through the efforts of the tea'cliOLo and by g'tts itorn individuals and organisations. Tho school doctors were satisfied after examination of many parties cn their return to London that the jenrnevs almost without exception, had produced marked physical improvement.
