CHRISTCHURCH HARMONIC SOCIETY.

CIVIC THEATRE TO-NIGHT. The second performance by the choir of t-h« Christchurch Harmonic Society will be given in the Civic Theatre this evening. The programme is a meritorious one, and was very favourably commented upon ai Thursday night's concert. The solo pisimste, Miss Joan Boniface (who is only 13 years oi age), received a very warm welcome from the large audience, and real pleasure with her playing. Mrs Graham Jamieson and Mr G, V. Greer also met with favour for their eolos, and the chorus numbers pjoved to be very popular, the musical critics agreeing that the standard was very hijjh indeed. One of the outstanding items of the night was the singing of the Faust fantasia. This introduced thre* soloists in Miss Sylvia Angus, Miss Leila Black, and Mr Ernest Johnson, who sang excellently. A double qnartette from the Elijah, "He Shall Give His Angels Charge," is also a feature of this programme. The booking arrangements are at Chaa. Begg and Co.
