SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL.
TIMARU BOROUGH FINANCES. [THE PRESS Special Service.] TIMARU, December 5. If a requisition, received by the Town Clerk (Mr E. A. Bolliek) yesterday is in order, a special meeting of the Timaru Borough Council will be held on Wednesday evening next for the purpose of investigating the financial position and transactions. of the Council, particularly in regard to certain payments that have been made. The requisition, in accordance with Nos. 5 and 6 of the Council's Standing Orders, reads: We, the undersigned, hereby requisition you to call a special meeting of the Council to: (1) Investigate and discuss the financial position and transactions of the Council generally in so far as they relate to any actions of the (Council s -Finance Committee and the borough treasurer during this Council's term of office; and (2) investigate and discuss the general methods adopted in Tegard to the observing and carrying out of any expenditures of the Council. Councillors W. H. Hunt, I\ Chittock, and G. Benstead."
