UNREST IN INDIA.
♦ RIOTERS ATTACK POLICE. (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—B? ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH —COPYIUGIIT.) (Received December sth, 7 p.m.) CALCUTTA, December 4. The police wore attacked twice this week by villagers in the Saran district of Bimar and Orissa, while assisting in collecting taxes and were compelled to fire, to disperse a mob of several thousands, armed with spears, who surrounded them. One rioter was killed and several were injured, while constables and horses wore hurt.
