RHODES SCHOLARS.

REPORT OP TRUST. The report of the Rhodes Trust for the academic year 1929-1930 states that during the year 68 Scholars took up residence for the first time. The number of Scholars in residence for either the whole or part of the academic year was 187, including 101 from the British Empire and 86 from the United States of America, while 21 ex-Scholars were in residence for one or more terms. The present Scholars were distributed among the various subjects as follows: Liters) Humaniores, 10; Mathematics, 6Natural Science and Medieine, 39; Law' ol; Modern History, 17; Philosophy' Politics, and Economics, 25; Modern Languages, 2; English Literature, 23; Economics, Diploma or B.Litt., 2; and forestry or Agriculture, 2. In the course of the year 62 Scholars either completed the term of the scholarship or went finally out of residence without completing it. . New Zealanders whose names appear in the lists of Scholars who gained de'lonours, and distinctions were: M. Barak, 1926 (Hertford), D.Phil. DePh y si<,s ; A. L.
