FUNERALS.
LATE MR A. S. COOKSON. The funeral of Mr A. S. Cookson was held yesterday morning, leaving the residence of his father, Mr W. G. Cookson, 563 Worcestor street, Linwood, at 11 a.m., for the Bromley Cemetery. The Rev. Otho Fitzgerald officiated at tho graveside. A sliorb memorial service v»*as held in. tho Assembly Hall of tho Christcliurch Boys' High School. Tho i23rd Psalm and tho hymn, "Lead, Kindly Light," wore sting, and the Headmaster, Mr G. J. Lancaster, spoko of Mr Cookson'3 work for the school.
The. pall-bearera were Messrs Kay Wilton, Reg. Fyfe, Bob Wallburton, J. Gaskin, L. Moorhouse, A. 1. Cottrell. LATE MR A. E. CHIVERS.
The funeral of the late Mr Arthur Edward Ghivers took place on Wednesday at the Bromley Cemetery. Tho chief mourners wero Mr E. A. Chi vers, Miss D. Olivers, Mr L. O. Chivers, and Mr O. J. Olivers. Tho liev. Jtr J. J. iN'orcu, Principal ot tile Hap cist College, Auckland, conducted the service at the graveside, wmcii was iolloued by iViasonic rites, conducted by Mr A. H. Hills, Worship! ul blaster of the Southern Star Lodge. The pallbearers were Messrs J. A. Prinsep, A. H. Hilk, J. E. Cooper, T. W. ttallis, H. T. Fuller, and F. S. Palmer. Although the late Mr Chivers took no place in public life, he was prominent in Masonic and business circles, and was well-known amongst bowlers, having been a member of the Linwood Bowling Club for somo years.
