The barometer was steady last evening:, the reading being 30.10. "Wellington—The weather was fine yesterday. The morning was cloudy, but tho sun came out in the afternoon and it remained bright for the remainder of the day. Tho wind was light from the north. Dnnedin—Following several days of unsettled weather which wero notable for heavy rain-and strong south-west winds, conditions -were, fine and . pleasant yesterday. There was more sunshine than cloud, with a fresh wind from the south-west. The maximum temperature was 70 degrees. Tho barometur is fairly steady, the reading last evening being ® 9 * 9o ' * ___ Forecast. General Situation—An anticyclone is still Oltaated over the Tasman Sea, and pressure) -epntipues low in the vicinity of tho Chatham Islands. _
Winds—Moderate westerly to southerly, freshening at times in tho far north, and £0 Seas (New Zealand waters) —Smooth to moderate in most places, but rough at times about Foveaux Strait. Tasman Sea—Light to moderate southerly winds in tho Eastern Tasman Sea, witu smooth to moderate seas. .
