Louisa Kiridlay, a domestic, aged 43, and Mar.arct McDcnnott, a domestic, a<;ed -15, vrerc* both sentenced to threo months' imprisonment tor being rogues and vagabonds without sufficient lawful visible means of support. Both had been convicted of being idle and disorderly in 1920. MILK BELOW STANDARD. Frederick Church (Mr D, W. Russell) was tined £2 and costs for selling milk which did not conform with the standard prescribed. Mr A. \V. Brown, who appeared for the Health Department, said that a sample taken had shown a deficiency of milk fat. There was no question of adulteration. John Bartlett Newton (Mr W F. Tracy) was fined 10s and costs for selling miik below standard. Mr Brown said that a sample of tho milk had failed to comply with the reductase test, otherwise it was all right. 1? AILED TO SUPPLY PARTICULARS. P. G. Busing, a builder (Mr H. Edgar), wa.* fined £2 and costs for failing to supply pmticulars required under tho Census ana Statistics Act, »92G. Mr Edgar asked that tho information bo dismissed, as there was no specific ground named on which the defendant had failed to supply the information The Act provided 19 instances in which infoimation musT bo supplied. He quoted a Press Aseoc:ation report of a case heard in the Supreme Court at Nelson on TuoHny, in which his Honour Mr Justice Peed directed thf «*rand jnrv to return no bill on an indictment for theft, as the indictment v:up too general. Mr R. T. Bailey, who appeared for the Labour Department, app'ied to have the information amended, and this was done. ROBBED SWAN'S NEST. Albert Edward Fletcher was fined £3 and costs for robbing a neat of black swan eggs on Oc'obcr 21st. Seventeen days were allowed to pay the fine. Mr M. J. Gresson appeared for tho. Acclimatisation Society. WATiiK METERS NOT CONNECTED. A number ot offenders were charged with using lor watering tlieir guldens a hoae Wi.icn was riot served through a meter. Mr R. J. Louglinan, wiio appeared tor the City Council, said that this was a seasonal tf)'.;uco, and that there was no objection ao lon,'? ats the water used was paid for. George Albert I'liinsbaw 10s and costs, Horace John S-'roith lCs and cos's, Thomas Ernest Terry co3ta enly, John Toohcv (Mr 11. do R. FJesher) convicted and discharged, Robert James Wilson 10s and costs. DRAINAGE CASES. R. Campbel l was charged with doing plumbing work, not being a registered Mr E. W. M. Cowlishaw, who appeared for the Drainage Board, said that tho defendant was a builder who had connected a s:nk to a sewer, and the infoimation was brought to show builders that they must employ registered plumbera for all such work. He did not press for a penalty. Campbell was convicted and discharged. Margaret Davidson (Mr F. D. Sargnnt) for f.iiling to remedy a defect in a sanitation p."stem, was convicted and ordered to pny costs.
