NEW HATCHERY.

TENDERS TO BE CALLED. A hatchery more than twice the size of the present ore at the Botanic Gardens is to be built on the Acclimatisation Society's new grounds at Grecnpark. It will be 146 feet long, 24 feet wide, and will hold 2,500.000 ova. At n speciai meeting of the Council of the Society last evening it was decided to call tenders immediately for the erection of the building in brick. It will be the most up-to-date in New Zealand. The Curator's house to be built nearby will be of five rooms, in wood, with all the latest conveniences. Tenders for the erection of this building are also being called for. Professor B. Speight and Messrs C. P.. Clark and A. E. Smith were appointed to report on the sinking ot •well# <on the new grounds.
