Tho following are'the results of a croquet, match played yesterday afternoon at l Sumner, in a flag competition between tho local team and ono from St. Albans:Singles—Mrs F. Edwards . 23 loßt to Mrs Nichols 20; Mrs Menzics 13 lost to Mrs Ogier 26; Mrs G. F. Allen 26 beat Mrs McLeod 23; Mrs IP. Longuot 26 beat Mrs' Haydock 19; Mrs A. A. Cheshire 20 lost to Miss Hill 26; Mrs G. Jerard 9 lost to Mrs Searell 20. Doubles —Mrs F. Edwards and Mrs 0. P. Mcnzies IS lost to Mrs Nichols and Mrs R. Ogier 26; Mrs G. F. Allen and Mrs L. P. Longuefc 15 lost to Mrß McLeod and Mrs Haydock 26 j Mrs A. A. Cheshire and Mrs G. Jerard 62 beat Miss Hill and Mm Searell 21. Totals —Sumner 3; St. Albans 5. SUMNER CLUB. In tho unavoidable absence of the president (Mr T. F. Chambers), Mr H, J. Williams presided at a mooting of the committee of the Sumner Croquet Club. Also present were; Ales dames H. D. Bates, E. A. Johnson, G. F. Allen, T. E. Whitfield, T. Gough, L. P. Longuot, G. Jerard, Misses M. A. Bain, T. M. Wood, and Mr Claydon. Mesdamcs Longuet and Jerard were appointed to represent the club on the Borough Picnic Committee. Tho treasurer's statement showed that the expenses to date were £SB 15s 6d, and that there was a bank balance of £SB 15s 6d. Donations from Miss Bain and Mr Claydon were acknowledged with thanks. Mrs T. F. Chambers was elected captain of the junior B team.
