TONGARIRO DUE TO-DAY. The N.Z. Shipping Co.'b Tongariro is due at Lyttelton today from Dunedin for further loading. She sails later for New Plymouth, Wellington, Napier, and Auckland, sailing finally from Auckland on December 23rd. for London, Tia Panama,
SHIPPING NOTES. The Galo is expected from tho north today and Bail* this afternoon for Dunedin, Oamaru, and Timaru. Sho is due back on Tuesday to load for Wellington and Wanganui. Tho Brcere tbould arrive this morning from Tiraaru to load for Wellington and Wanganui. Tho Tees is duo to-morrow from Wellington, and 6aila to-morrow afternoon for tho Chatham [stands, where she will cull at Waitangi, Owenga, Kaingaroa, and Pitt Island. The Opibi takes in cargo here to-morrow for Nelson aud New Plymouth, and tails via Wellington. Tho Holmdale is expected to-morrow from tho south to load for Wellington and Wanga* nui. The John is to load at Lyttelton to-mor-row for Wellington, Wanganui, Now Plymouth, and Waikato. The Wairaarino should arrive here tomorrow from Timaru to load for Auckland, via Wellington. The Turakina is due here to-day from Wellington for further discharge of her Liverpool cargo. Sho sails later for Dunedin and Oamaru. Tho Port Waikato is expected her* on Saturday from Timaru to load for Dargaville, Whangarei, and Tauranga. Tho Waipiata is to arrive from Auckland and Wellington on Saturday, and should get away that evening for Dunedin and Timaru. The Rotorua is expected to-morrow from Port Chalmers to continuo discharge of her London cargo. Tho Shell Co.'a tanker Scottish Heather is duo at Lyttelton on Sunday from Wellington to complete discharge of her cargo of motor spirits.
The Parera is timed to load at T,yttolton on Monday for East Coast ports of the North Island.

TRIBUTE TO PORT OFFICERS. ASSOCIATION TELEQBAIt.) WELLINGTON, December 3. Mr C. E. Brown, speaking of the berthing at Wellington last week of the Matson liner, Malolo, tells of promptness and efficiency on the part of the Port Health authorities and the Customs officers. Mr Brown, who lives in Sydney, is General Manager for Australia and New Zealand of the Matson Navigation Company. He was a passenger in tho Malolo, from Australia to New Zealand. Through the New Zealand agents, Burns, Philp, and Company, it was learned to-day that Mr Brown had commented on the minimum delay with which the vessel had been berthed. The Customs and health officers ' procedure was all that could be desired, he said, and considering the conditions the berthing was carried out with a minimum of delay, having regard to the safety of tho ship and tho wharf.
HARBOUR BOARD. It was reported to yesterday 'a meeting of the Ijyttelton Harbour Board that tho following transfers of staff had taken place during the month:—A. Brodie, mate of the tug, transferred to the dredge Canterbury, as sailing master; S. Martin, nightwatchman, transferred to the tug in place of A. Brodie; R. T. Ings, signalman at the Heads, to B. Martin's placo as nightwatchman. THE PORT HUNTER. The Port Hunter is now expected to arrive at. Lyttclton to-morrow from Wellington to discharge New York cargo. She completes discharge at Dunedin, and then loads at New Plymouth, Wanganui, Napier, and Wellington. The Port Hunter is to sail from Wellington on December 24th for London, via Panama. PERSONAL. Captain R. Huntly is taking command o£ tho Oonah at Melbourne, relieving Captain E. Evans for further instructions. Captain M. MacKenzie is being appointed to the Kowhai, also at Melbourne, refieving Captain J. Stewart for holiday leave. Captain S. Hewitt is now in command of the Kaponga. Mr A. E. Rawlins has relieved Mr F. D. Johnson, chief officer of tho Kartigi, for his holiday. Mr A. C. Crosbie has relieved Mr G. M. Sc-hofteld; third officer of tho Kaimanawa, for holiday leave. Mr J. H. Johnson is being appointed third ott-cer of the Koranui at Sydney this week, relieving Mr J. M. Buchanan for further instructions.
CANADIAN NATIONAL STEAMSHIPS.
Tho Canadian Conbtructor is to sail from Auckland to-day iot Now York, Boston, and Halifax.
The Canadian Victor, which left Montreal on October 18th, is due at Auckland on 'December 11th, and at Lyttelton, ?ia Wellington, on December ICth. Sho will discharge and load at this port, and sails tho following day for Timaru, Dunedin, and Bluff. The Canadian Cruiser sailed from Montreal on November 25th, and will be the last to leave that port this season for New Zea? land. Sho is due at Auckland on January Bth, and will also call at Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin. The Canadian Transporter is expected to sail from Halifax on December 24th for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin, and Bluff. She is due at Auckland on February 4th. CARGO FROM AUSTRALIA. Ihe Kalingo loads at Sydney at the end of this week, and completes at Newcastle and Coff'g Harbour, for Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Wanganui. Sho ia due ut fchiß port on Decomber 18 th. The Karepo loads fit Dnvonport (Tasmania), F.dithburg, and Adelaide, at tho middle of this month for -Auckland and Dunedin. Tho Pootta loaves. (Jrafton on Saturday for Port Stephens and Newcastle to complete louaing for Auckland, Wellington, A'ow Plymouth, and Grej raouth. Sho sails from NowcaKtle on December 11th. The Waikouaiti is loading: fit Newcastle and Sydney next week for Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Timaru. Sho in due hero or December 17th.
