OBITUARY.
Mil JOHN CRACROFT WILSON. Ab tilc age of GO yours, Mr John 'Ku.roft Wilson died unexpectedly yesterday. Mr Wilson was the eldest ol Mr L' rederick Cracroft Wilson, iU u K'-andson of Sir J. Cracroft Wilson. lie took little interest in pubic affairs, but was a very well known ■.inner any a keen exhibitor of stud t\ H i %vas a member of tho Winterbury Agricultural and Pastoral j s.suciation, and for some time lie ived on Ins lather's estate at Culverc "' uelore farming the Cashmere estate. When his lather died he took up residence on tho original estate at Oashmere, and latterly had devoted his attention to breeding poultry. He was also very much interested ni horse breeding. Outside farming lil'o Mr Wilson was a keen golfer and a player of some merit. lie took an exceedingly active part in the affairs of the Christchurch Golf Club in its early days, and assisted largely in the club's development. lie was a member when the new links at Shirley were taken over and put info commission. He received his education at Christ's College. St. Andrew's University. Scotland, and at Jesus College, Cambridge, taking up farming immediately upon his return to the Dominion from Cambridge. Mr Wilson married a daughter ot Sir John Hall. Tie leaves a widow, two sons and two daughters. The sons are Mr Frederick Cracroft Wilson, who is farming at Hawarden, and Mr ltossmore Cracroft Wilson, who is managing the Cashmere estate. The daughters are Mrs D. P. Dickinson, who married Major Dickinson, who I s stationed at Bagdad, and Mrs Griggwho married Mr Arthur Grigg, ot Surrev Hills. A third daughter, Mrs Kobert Wilson, died two years ago.

He was a leading union advocate in the Industrial Courts, and a former member of tho local Board of Trade.
