ACCOUNTANTS' SOCIETY.

EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEETS. A meeting of the Executive Committeo of the New Zealand Society ot Accountants was held recently in Wellington. the following members being in attendance: —Messrs J. M. Elliffe, It. Davis, J. L. Griffin, and ifirnest W. Hunt. letters were received from the Incorporated Institute of Accountants of New Zealand, and from the New Zealand Accountants' and Auditors' Association, advising that resolutions had been passed by both bodies to the effect that they would not promote or support any opposition to an application by the New Zealand Society of Accountants for a Roval Charter. It was decided to communicate with a firm of public accountants advising them that they were unwise in endorsing in their report, appearing in the prospectus of a company, an estimate of the future profits of the company. The following were admitted to membership ot the Society:—Messrs SW. Hodgson, A. R. Hutchings. J. L.. MeKissock, and E J. McParland. all of Wellington. Mossrs James Milne (Wellington) and R. \V. Lock (Auckland) were classified as public accountants.
