ST. ANDREW'S CHURCH.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING. The annual meeting of tho congregation of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church was held last evening, the Rev. J. Lawson Robinson presiding over a largo attendance. Tho outstanding event of the year, stated tho report, had been tho settlement of th© Rev. J. Lawson Robinson, to undertake the oversight of tho congregation in succession to the Rev. N. L. D. Webster. Mr Robinson had entered into tho life of tho congregation with zeal and enthusiasm, and the number and personnel of tho session were the same as last year, and all members took a keen interest in the work of the church. Attendance at the services had been well maintained. pleasxire being expressed at the number of young people in tho congregation. An important feature ot the church work had been the publication. bi-monthly, of a church paper. "The Messenger," which promised to serve a very useful purpose in the congregational life of St. Andrews. Tho choir had a membership of over fifty, and their attendance at practice and Divine Service was gratifying. The conductor, Mr J. McLean, and tho organist, Mr R. IS. Lake, were responsible for the fine standard of tho music of the church. The report dealt with the activities of the church in respect to tho young people, there being a roll of 191 in tho Sunday School, while many workers were main, taining interest in tho six Bible Classes. Under the capable management of Miss Irene Todd and Miss MaeGibbon, tho work of tho free kindergarten, with its roll of 41, was carried on satisfactorily. The treasurer's report stated that the receipts for the year, £2381 14* 9d, were very satisfactory in view of the general depression. The expenditure. however, had been heavier than usual, repairs to the Manse, the purchase' of a new motor-car, and the expenses of the settlement involving a considerable outlay. The reports were adopted. The office-bearers remain the same as in the past year, including the following :—Minister, the Rev. .T. Lawson T?obin«on. 8.A.: session clerk.
