The Governor-General and Lady lilcdisloe entertained, at an afternoon party at Government House, nearly .1000 guests, consisting of Government arid municipal employees and their wives. This ia the first of a series of similar gatherings at Wellington which their Excellencies hope to be able to arrange during their stay in New Zealand.
