When the Malolo's passengers commenced to troop down the Wellington Harbour Board's gangway at the Pipitea Wharf on Friday, the majority of the men carrying with them their golf clubs, the first impression given was that most of the visitors had passed, or at least reached, middle age (states the "Post"). A few young men and women served to reduce the average age, but enquiries on board the ship confirmed the first impression. The average ago of the tourists on board the Malolo is 49i years. There were 190 passengers on board when tho ship arrived, compared with the 344 passengers who arrived at Auckland by the ship last year. About one-third_ of the passengers are from California, and the remainder are distributed among the other States and Canada.
