BUILDING DESTROYED.

Fire, in the early hours of yesterday morning, completely destroyed a detached, one-storey building at 3 Park lane, Fendalton. Situated at the rear of a house occupied by Mrs 13. "Wisely, the building contained a washhouse, a motor garage, a toolhouse, and a bedroom. A fifteen-year-old boy, who was sleeping in the bedroom nad a narrow escape, only discovering the outbreak when the flames reached the room. The Central Fire Brigade received a call at 3 a.m. When they reached Parle lane, however, they could do little to save the building, which was burning fiercely. In a very short time it was completely destroyed. The cause of the fire is a mystery. The building was the property of Mr E. J. Johnson, of 63 Fendalton road. The contents were not _ insured, and the insurances on the building are not yet available.
