Something of a revival of goldmining in Marlborough was indicated by tho number of applications for prospecting licenses which came before tho Warden at Blenheim recently. Applications for tramway, battery site, and water-race licenses in respect of a claim at Deep Creek, Wakamarina Valley, were granted. Applications were also granted for an ordinary prospecting license over an area of 10 acres situated on Glenzyle grazing run, and for a 21 years' water-race license at Bluff Creek for ground sluicing purposes.
