A well-known Auckland jockey, Benjamin Kinsman Deeley, • was the respondent in an application for permanent alimony, before Mr Justice Smith in the Supremo Court to-day. The r>etitioner was Doris Madge Elizabeth Deeley (Mr J. J. Sullivan). Mr IS. H. Nortlicroft appeared for the respondent. Deeley was cross-examined by Mr Sullivan about the money lie had in the bank. Mr Nortlicroft said his client's capital was rapidly disappearing, and an attempt was being niatlo to curtail the loss. To his Honour the witness said he started on a falling market.
