YESTERDAY'S TRANSACTIONS. Markets continued quiet on Call yesterday and the turnover recorded vtbb small. Transactions, exclusive of vestibule business, included: 300 Comm. Bank of Aust. j 1(X) Beath and Co. (Is paid). 200 British Tobacco. 100 Mt. Lyell (cum div.). 100 Taranaki Oil. 500 Mahakipawa Goldfields. | Commercial Bank of Australia shares er.«ed to dealings at 16s 2d. 16s Id, ;and 15s lid market closing los lOd buyers 16s sellers. Bank of Australasia shares dropped to £lO sellers, £9 10a hiivers. Bank of New Zealand cum dividend, fell to 53s 9d sellers, o2s 3d buvers Union Bank of Australia were weaker with sellers at £9 10s, buyers at £9 ss. Quotations for other bank stocks also revealed weaker markets. Miscellaneous. Buyers of Goldsbrough, Morts, cum dividend of <5 per cent., advanced their bids to 20s 3d, sellers at 21s 6d. New Zealand Breweries shares, cum dividend, were firm on buyers' offers 4'2s 6d, sellers at 42s 9d. Tooths Brewery shares, ex dividend of Is per share, showed strength with buyers at 22s 3d, sellers at 245. Beath and Co. Is paid shares changed hands at 4s 6d, market closing 4s 3d buyers, 5s sellers. British Tobaccos recovered some ot their lost ground with dealings at 31s 3d and 31s 2d, closing quotations- 31s Id buyers, 31s 3d sellers. Henry Jones Co-op. shares, ex dividend of 9d per share, had unsupported sellers at 21s. Mt. Lyells, cum dividend, were fractionally weaker at 19s 6d, market closing 19s 5d buyers, 19s 9d sellers. Tar.inaki Oilfields shares realised 2s, sellers staving in at that price, buyers at Is 11 <J. Mahakipawa Goldfields shares were firm at BJd, and more were wanted at that price, sellers at 9d.
