CRYSTAL PALACE.
"THE SONG OF THE FLAME." **The Sonc of the Flame," First National and Vitaphone's brilliant dramatic romance, to bo presented at the Crystal Palace today, will be enjoyed by lovers of good music aa well as those who are looking for dramutio screen entertainment. It was directed by Alan Crosland, with many Russians appearing m the mob sequences which add sub. stantiaily to the realism of the spectacular scenes. The Petrograd of an earlier day, when it still betokened the wealth and luxury of the Russian aristocracy, is revived in the colourful backgrounds constructed for this picture. Four players in the large cast deserve particular mention because of their fine characterisations and sub* stantial contributions to the vocal sequences in the picture. They are iiernice Claire, the prima donna; Alexander Gray, who plays opposite her; Noah beery, and Alice Oentlo, a foremost operatic star. Considered as a spectacle, as a drama, or aa a stirring romance, "Song of the Flame" stands out as a notable achievement. The box plans are at The Bristol Piano Company.
