ASHLEY RIVER TRUST.
Tho monthly meeting of the Ashley River Trust was held, when Mr F. Langbein presided. Also present were Messrs C. S. Ayers, G. Bruere, R. D. Hutchinson, L. A. Stokes, H. J. Benjes, W. T. Lindsay, and R. C. Wright, The tender of G. Pawsey, for Hanna's lease at £37 per annum, was accepted. In connexion with a complaint from Mr H. J. Stone, that shooters trespass on his property, the Trust decided to advise Mr Stone that it was quite willing to stop shooters going on his property, and gave him permission to put up a notice to that effect. The secretary was instructed to see the local bodies in the Trust's rating area in reference to an early payment of rates collected. The recommendation of the foreman, that arsenic be tried on willows, was approved. Experiments will be carried out on a small island below the Ashley bridge. It was also decided tliat a notice warning the public be placed on the island to the effect that poison had been laid. It was decided that no meeting be held in December.
