In issuing lists of words to be treated in the Supp'ement, the editors of the Oxford Dictionary invite illustrative quotations of earlier date than thoso given, or, when none is given, quotations of any date. The most convenient size of slip for quotation, according to the editors, is 6 by 4in. Pull reference should be giv, n to author, title, volume, chapter, etc., of the book excerpted, and the edition used. Each slip should bear the catchword in the leit-haud corner, and all comn-jUnications should be addressed to the secretary Clarendon Preja, Oxford, marked, O.E.D.
