ST. JOHN AMBULANCE.
WORK OF THE WEEK. The usual weekly meeting of the Christchureh Men's Ambulance Division was held at the Brigade rooms in Gloucester street. There were fourteen members on parade under First Officer Palmor. A letter of apology for absence was received from Superintendent W. Wootton. Mr F. L. Dickson was admitted as a member of the Division. The work of the evening consisted of roller bandaging, which was carried out under the supervision of Mrs Harper, Lady Superintendent, of the Girl Guide Division, and Miss O'Rourke, a nursing sister from the same Division.
The following members were detailed for public duty at Monica Park Speedway this evening:—Privates W. Priest and H. Lamb. Private \V. Bailey acted as demonstrator at a first aid class on Wednesday last. Members of the Christchureh Nursing Division held their meeting on Monday evening at the Brigade rooms, when there was a record attendance. The Lftdy Superintendent congratulated members on the full attendance and general appearance at tho annual inspection on Saturday last. After the usual inspection Dr. F. J. Borrie gave an interesting lecture on "First Aid Don'ts." One member reported having attended a case of home nursing during the week, and a case of sickness was also reported where daily nursing attention had been given during the week. Tree Ambulance. During tho week twenty-one eases received attention by the St. John Free Ambulance Service. Most of the patients were transported to hospital, and in several cases surgical dressings were first applied. On Friday alone three calls were received, and twice unsolicited donations were handed to the attendant by the patient.
