COUPLE FOUND DEAD.
POLICE THEORY OF THE TRAGEDY.

The bodies of a young couple were found in a lonely portion of La Perouse suburb to-day. ' Both were shot The victims are YValdemar Oslinden, aged 29, an engineer, and Winifred Ryan, aged 18. The police theory is that the pair drove to La Perouse in a car last night, when Oslinder apparently attempted a criminal offence on Miss Ryan, who, in defence of her honour, shot him through the back. Portion of his clothing was taken off. The girl's body was round a short distance from the car. She had a bullet wound in the head and a revolver was near her left hand. A medical examination disclosed that Oslinder had died before midnight and the girl early in the morning. ORIGINAL THEORY DISCOUNTED. (Received November 28tli, 1.30 a.m.)

The police have ascertained that Miss Ryan had been friendly witlj Oslinden for a couple of years. She had apparently deliberately hot him, either through jealousy or as a result of a quarrel, using a revolver taken from her employer's office. Afterwards she nursed him, and later committed suicide. The original theory as regards defending her honour if discounted.
