The atom must bo harnessed to perform the labour of the world, says Sir Arthur JSddington the British physicist. He repeats what the Americans, Millikan and Laugmuir, have been asserting. A jugf" l oC water has morc cner gy locked up in it: tl,all can be P r °dueed by a dozen power plants on the St. ■Lawrence. To release it is the problem. Rut science is on the way. It can be bv raising heat to forty million degrees Centigrade. So far the highest temperature achieved is one million r-.ntifradc. That little thing done, we shall "have some trillion billion horsepower available.

On top of the Old Bailey, the famous London Court of Justice, the familiar figure of Justice can be seen. It is blindfold—to indicate impartiality —holding the scales in one hand, and a sword aloft in the other. The scales are the symbol of fairness.
