A BROKEN RIGHT LEG
employee tho Oiiristcliurc}* Gae Company, Thomas Smith, of 76 Nurscry roscij Linwood, was udroittcd to the Christchurch Hospital yesterday morning suffering from a broken right leg. It was stated that he received the injury while working with a motorlorry loaded with coal in the company's yard at Walthnm. Forced b.y the weight of the coal, the door at the side" of the lorry suddenly flew open, striking Smith on the leg.

Ness, lajbour superintendent of the Holm Shipping Company, fell into the harbour this morning through a hole in the floor of a shed on the Queen's Wharf, striking his head while falling and being rendered unconscious. One of the victims of an accident near the Waikanae railway station on Sunday, when a motor-car capsized and caught fire, Arthur Dennis d.Vsd in the Wellington Hospital yesterday afternoon. The other victims of the accident are progressing favourably. SHUNTING MISHAP. (raxes ieaocsivion hmmav.) DTJNBDIN, November 27. A. J. Breayley, a guard, while shunting at the Tapanui station yesterday afternoon, slipped under a waggon and the wheels passed over his legs. He suffered a compound fracture of the left ankle, a broken thigh, and a badly crushed leg. Breayley was removed to the Tapanui Hospital in a critical condition. He is a married man and resides at Edendale. His right leg has been amputated.
