"It is a short-sighted policy which will result in loss to the railways," said the president of the North Canterbury Executive of the New Zealand Farmers' Union (Mr Colin Mcintosh) tit yesterday's meeting of thiit body, when reporting that he had sent a telegrnm to the Minister for Railways (the Hon. W. A. Veitch), protesting against the proposal to increase railage on fertilisers and lime.
