SWIMMING.
PHIJvUPSTOWN (ULLB. A meeting of the Phillipstown Amateur Swimming Club's Committee was held in the school-room. Mr A. Wright presided. The secretary reported that the bath had been connected up with' the d«ep well, apd was available for the use of the members. It was resolved to open the bath to members as from the 22nd instant and to fiold an opening carnival on November 20th, and ufgo to endeavour to arrange for an exhibition of water-polo. Arrangements were made for providing afternoon tea, and Mr Hewitt was re-engaged as caretaker for the geason. The secretary was authorised to arrange for the printing of tickets, etc., as early as possible. The chairman reported that the School fair would be held on December Gth. and the club' agreed to assist at it with one or two aide-shows.
