CHRISTCHURCH CAT CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING HELD. The annual meeting of the Christchurch Cat and Pet Club was held last evening, when Mrs A. W. MacGillivjay was in the chair. The. balance-sheet . disclosed a credit of £5 Os 3d. J.t was decided that in future the. club be known as the New Zealand Cat Club. A letter was received from the New Zealand Governing Council of the Cat Fancy Club, Auckland, stating that representatives to headquarters were one for every fifty members. The aims of the Council were; To obtain registration of cats and kittens in New Zealand, together with transfers of same; to issue a stud book; to ensure uniformity of show conditions; to deal with complaints of fraudulent practice in the fancy;, to grant championships. The letter was referred to the incoming committee. It was resolved that any member failing to register kittens should receive 110 benefits from the club. The following officers were elected:—President, Mr It. Gudsell; vice-presidents, Mrs K. T. Temple, Miss G. Hobbs, and Mr' D. Cossgrove; committee,- Mesdaraes R. Gudsell, E. Paley, A. W. MncGillivray, Miss E.' Boyns, and Mr T. Lewis; secretary, Mrs T. Lewis. Two new members were elected.
