Tracy), appeared for sentence on ii Chares of stealing; an electric lamp, valued at 15s, the property of some person unknown, on November 7th, and on a charge of stealing a bicycle, valued at £lO, the property o: Donald Swanston, on October 30th. He was admitted to probation for three 7ears, the goods to be returned to the owner. REMANDED. Benjamin Start, a labourer, aged 36 (Dr. A. L. Haslam), was charged -with doing an indecent act with intent to offend a female. He was remanded to appear on December L'nd. Bail was allowed in self £IOO and one surety of .£IOO. DRUNKEN LOHRY-DRIVER. Frederick Hobeon, a labourer, aged S3 (Mr A. A. McLaelilsn), was charged with being drunk in charge of s motor-lorry in Durham street on Kovember 22nd. He pleaded P. J. O'Hara said that a constable bad noticed accused and another man in tho street on Saturday evening, when they were both very drunk. Accused "was opening a gate into a yard. The constable asked him what be was doing, whoa accused paid he was going in to get his truck. The constable warned him not to drive, but ac- I cused backed the truck into the street. | The constable jumped on to the running board, switched off the engine, and arrested accused. 1 Hobson was fined £lO and his license wan cancelled until May 31st. TRAFFIC OASES. For leaving vehicles parked over the time limit, the following were fined 10s and costs:-*—Agnes W. Anderson, John Daniel Davis, Harold Lightband, Wilfred E. Tu.rland, and Linua Hubble. For a similar offence Helena Colbeck was fined 15s and costs. For using an unlicensed tali tho Aabbey Taxi Service, Ltd. (Sir W. J. Stacey), Was fined 10s and costE. .On a similar charge Stanley J. It. Harrison was convicted and discharged. _ ..... For parking vehicles in prohibited areas the following were fined 10s and costs:—Bertram Vincent Brownlie, Sir Charles Clifford, and H. T. Richards. Richards was also iined 10s and costs for not parking his car alongside the kerb. For not complying with the signals o! a, traffic inspector Alex. 3. Blackburn was fined 10s and costs. For similar offences Kenneth Eric Miller and Henry D. van Asch were each fined 20s and costs. For leaving taxis unattended on the star.d Jamos Carney and Charlen L. Newton were each fined 10s snd costs. William Dunlop was fined. 10s and costs for cycling at night without a light. For : similar offences Patrick Ford was fined 5b I and costs, and Reginald Claude Reader 10s | and Costs. ■ Arthur S. Elworthy was fined 10s and cost& ! for not parking his car alongside the kerb. Gordon Fairbairn and G. Wright were both fined 5s and coats for riding motorcycles without being tho holders of driving licenses. For failing to licence lorries under Heavy Traffic Regulations John William Garland was lined 20s and costs, William Gooseman 30s and costs, and Robert John Hunter Miller 5s and costs. Miller was fined tS snd costs for using an expired disc. Jamos Russell Hawkes was fined 6s &v.d costs for riding a motor cyclo at night without « tail-light. Alfred V. Osmond was fined 20s and costs for cutting a dome. For cutitng a corner Helen Rutherford (Mr W. R. Lascelles) was tiued 10s and costs. For passing a stationary tram Alexander W Ross was fined SOs and costs. Cyril Bedford, who appeared voluntarily, was fined 5s and costs for riding a motorcycle without being the holder of a driver's license. (Before Mr H. A. Young, S.il.) FOUR MEN REMANDED. * Clarence Harold Gardner, Brie Frank Hamburger, Francis Joseph Miles, and Walter Rastrick, labourers, were jointly charged with breaking into the premises of Hutchison and Co., Ltd., on November 18th. They were remanded to appear on December Snd, bail being allowed each accused in self £2OO and one surety of £2OO. MAINTENANCE CASES. (Before Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M.} For disobedience of a niaintenance Ireby Stalker was sentenced to foortees
