w EVERYBODY'S THEATRE. "THE VAGABOND KING." Returning to Christchurch for a further season after its successful showing some time ago, tbo screen production of "The Vagabond King," which opened at Every* body's Theatre yesterday, has everything to recommend it as one of the most lavißh ond spectacular of films. Shown in techni* colour, and produced with due regard to the qualifications of those filling the principal roles, there will be many who will consider tho picture even superior to the play. It has tho advantage of two talented artists in Denis King and Jeanette Mac Don* aid, the first as the king of the vagabonds and the second as the nieco of King Louis XI. of France. A rebel against the Royal power, the leader of tho vagabonds of Paris becomes unwittingly the Grand Marshal of France, and in that position succeeds in defeating the raiding forces of Burgundy. The film is one which should receive a good reception throughout its season.
