ONE SCHOOL OF FORESTRY.

MR C. E. FOWERAKER'S COMMENT. "Naturally I am gratified at the decision of Mr Atmore to make the School of Forestry at Canterbury College the national one," said Mr- C. E. Foweraker, lecturer in charge of the School, on his return to Christchurch on Saturday morning. , "Though I am Cantfcrbnry-born it is my sincere and unbiased opinion that Canterbury offers the most suitable and natural facilities of all places in New Zealand for giving practical and efficient field instruction in forestry. "I should like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to the excellent work done by Mr F. E. Hutchinson, Lecturer in Forest Utilisation at the Canterbury School, especially in field work. Together we have spent the last six years in organising Canterbury and the West Coast into what might be termed 'a field laboratory.' I feel that we can now proceed to build more extensively on the very firm foundations which already exist."
