The e<fforts of the Nelson Acclimatisation Society extending over several years to establish rainbow trout m I.ake Itotorua appear to have met with success judging by the results obtained by two Murchison anglers. Trawling a minnow f ; behind a launch, they took fourteen beautiful fish, ranging in weight from 71b to 121b. Nine were landed in about li hours and were caught along the shores of the take, the best fishing being obtained between 0 and 7 p.m. Seven of the best specimens. including a brown trout, were brought into Nelson last week and were inspected with interest bv a number of neople. The lake was fished last year for the ..ist time since fry were placed there by the Acclimatisation Society about seven years ago; but tho catch made last week is considered tho best yet obtained.
